Like the Black Eyed Peas song, Fergie "Just Can't Get Enough" of her new little baby son, Axl Jack. Stopping by The Ellen DeGeneres Show for an interview airing Wednesday, Nov. 20, the "Fergalicious" singer opens up about welcoming her first child with husband Josh Duhamel on Aug. 29 of this year.
"It was really special. It was very special," the new mom tells DeGeneres of her C-section delivery. "I see Josh's face. They're pulling Axl out. I can't feel anything. I'm all numb. And I see Josh, and he's going, 'Aw,' and he's giving the faces, and I'm going, 'Wow, I'm so happy. This moment is so special, so tender...'"
And so loud? "I hear screaming," Fergie, 38, recalls. "And over the side comes Axl, and he's screaming at me, crying. And I went, 'Okay, the name works.'"
Speaking of the name, the Black Eyed Peas singer says it came to her in a dream. "I had this dream, and I was in the audience at this festival," she explains. "It was outdoors and it was all grimy and nobody knew who I was. I was just one of the fans. It was like the old days. It was so cool. And onstage singing was Jim Morrison. And then came Bob Marley, and then Axl Rose."
She continues: "I mean, I was in heaven in this dream. And I'm dancing and just getting into the music, and then all of a sudden, boom boom! And I wake up, and it was the first time my son kicked me in the stomach."
It seems he liked the dream, too. "It was like he was feeling the music with me. It was amazing," she gushes. "I'm gonna start to cry. It was really beautiful, and I woke Josh up and I said, 'Honey, honey, honey -- he kicked me. He finally kicked me.' And I told him my dream, and he was like, 'Wow.'"
"We had already picked the middle name because my uncle -- who is a very special guy -- he passed away last year. Jack, Uncle Jack. So we already had the middle name," Fergie tells DeGeneres. "I told the story, and [Josh] was like Morrison, Marley... No, Axl Jack. That's it. And it just had this ring to it. It was very strong."
Also strong? His resemblance to his dad, Safe Haven actor Duhamel. DeGeneres shared a photo of the 3-month-old baby boy during her interview with Fergie, and both noted some similarities between the tiny tyke and his father.
"He looks just like Josh in that picture," DeGeneres remarked.
"Oh my gosh, he so does in that picture," Fergie replied. "[Josh has] got a little mini me. Axl Jack."
