Meaning of Ginevra

Name of literary origins, circulated during the late Middle Ages thanks to Chrétien de Troyes and the cycle of adventures of King Arthur; Geneva in fact was the wife of Arthur. It derives from Gwenhwyfar (name of a Celtic divinity) and in its turn from the Norman Gwenhwyar and it has the meaning of “shining, white among Elphs”.
