Meaning of Gabriele

Meaning of Gabriele
The name has Aramaic origins from Geber-El with the meaning of “hero of God”, but it might also derive from the Hebrew Gavriel: composed from gabar, “strong man” or from geber, “man” and El “God”, the complete meaning is therefore “God has been strong” or “man of God”. It is the name of one of the seven archangels named in the Bible. Gabriel is a protecting angel of Israel. He is however a character common to other religions: for the Muslims Gabriel is the spirit of the truth who dictated the Koran to Muhammad, while the Hebrews venerate him as the “prince of the fire”.
